Course info
The Research Degrees programme offered by the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development is aimed at both recent graduates wanting to specialise in energy and sustainability, and professionals wishing to extend their knowledge and expertise. The programme has an interdisciplinary approach, reflecting the need for the integration of skills and knowledge in the field of sustainable development. Students can propose their own research topic, which is refined through discussions with the supervision team. Occasionally the Institute seeks applicants for fixed-term research into specific topics.

How much will it cost?
2007/08 fees: £3236 Full time; £833 Part time

Assessment method
Examination for all degreees is by a thesis in English plus a viva.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must hold the equivalent of an upper second-class degree or better to pursue the MPhil or MPhil/PhD. Applicant already holding a relevant postgraduate masters degree or higher, eg by graduating from one of our MSc courses, or who have some relevant subject-specific experience, may pursue the PhD route.
