Course info
Students follow a programme which is firmly grounded in a wide range of journalism practice as well as engaging with contemporary theoretical issues. Throughout the programme there is an emphasis on practical work, which, in the later stages, includes placements and group projects. Topics covered include: understanding what news is, where it comes from and how to find it, building contacts, writing for various and differentiated markets, writing for newspapers and magazines, sub-editing and design, on-line journalism, media law and public affairs and ethics of journalism.

Fees for 2007 were: Full time £3,070 (EU students).

Entry Requirements
A Levels/ASs/AVCEs/Key Skills (Level Three) - 240 UCAS tariff points (applicants must have at least two full A Levels); AGNVQ/BTEC - Merit; or Access - Pass.
