This course is aimed at mature learners who in most cases are returning to education after many years out of the classroom and provide them with the skills and confidence to move on to university to study a range of Higher education subjects. Additional subjects include Biology, Health Studies, and Psychology or Sociology. All students follow a core programme of Study Skills, English, Maths and IT. Progression is to general HE Degree coursese.g. Media Studies, Criminology, Creative Therapies, Teaching Degrees, Social Work and Nursing Diplomas/Degrees and Mental Health training.

Assessment method
Continuous assessment by regular assignments using a variety of methods, including interactive presentations, role-plays and hands-on demonstrations of the learners' skills.

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements other than an interest in the course and the opportunities that it offers, coupled with a reasonable standard of written English. Students will be interviewed prior to joining the course. Students must be at least 19 years of age on enrolment.

Venue details
The College nursery is open Monday to Friday during term time. It is a purpose-built, open plan room, and also boasts an interactive and stimulating outdoor play area. The nursery can accommodate up to twenty children at any one time, from the age of two years up to their fifth birthday. All areas of the college offer good access to people with physical disabilities complemented by a comprehensive support service. The college provides facilities for students with hearing and visual impairment, students with learning difficulties, students whose main language is not English, guidance and advice service.
