Course info
This technical certificate provides the skills and knowledge to under pin the later achievement of an NVQ in the subject area. Students will study eleven units which are required by the awarding body (BPEC) and Key Skills. On completion of their Technical Certificate students need to gain employment to work towards gaining NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing. If they gain a Technical Certificate and NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing they can progress to the Technical Certificate and NVQ in Plumbing Level 3 or the CLNI Gas Assessors programme. They could also progress to employment or other work based training in the construction industry.

Assessment method
Students will be assessed by completing a range of practical tasks, on an individual basis. They will also be required to complete a portfolio of evidence and external tests for each module and a final exam.

Entry Requirements
Entry will be by interview and successful completion of the BPEC entry test and other diagnostic testing to ensure the applicants' level of basic skills is suitable for entry onto this programme.

Venue details
The College nursery is open Monday to Friday during term time. It is a purpose-built, open plan room, and also boasts an interactive and stimulating outdoor play area. The nursery can accommodate up to twenty children at any one time, from the age of two years up to their fifth birthday. All areas of the college offer good access to people with physical disabilities complemented by a comprehensive support service. The college provides facilities for students with hearing and visual impairment, students with learning difficulties, students whose main language is not English, guidance and advice service.
